Report: Pac-10 Commissioner Flying Into Kansas City To Meet With Kansas AD Lew Perkins

We received a tip from SB Nation's Rock Chalk Talk that Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott was flying into Kansas City Sunday evening. His reasons for coming to Kansas City weren't quite clear.

Until now.

KUSports.com reports, citing sources, that Scott is coming to town "expressly" to meet with Kansas AD Lew Perkins.

This meshes with some reports that are floating around out there. If Texas A&M makes the leap to the SEC -- which some think could be happening next week -- Kansas is a prime candidate to receive an invite to the Pac-10.

Perkins recently announced his retirement but is staying on for another year to see out this conference realignment.

Multiple media outlets are gathered out at the airport as we speak.

Stay tuned.

Maybe they still need a 10th team in the Pac 10.

If he knows something we don’t, it would make sense to be flying in to make KU an offer.

Obviously no other team in the country could generate more revenue for the PAC 10 than KU.

It would be bazaar to be in it though. Geographically it makes zero sense.

I hope we stay and rebuild the Big 12 and come out of it a stronger league than ever before.

Three time zones in one conference if KU joins

But its probably the best bet for KU at this point.

If A&M goes to the SEC, then Texas will likely bolt for the Pac-10 and that means the Big 12 is dead and KU needs a conference.
