MLB Trade Deadline: Royals, Red Sox Have Discussed David DeJesus

The Royals and the Red Sox discussed OF David DeJesus, according to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com. Here's what we know:

  • The two sides discussed DeJesus about 10 days ago
  • The Royals are scouting the Red Sox minor league system
  • The two sides have yet to exchange names

This is about what we thought was happening but with a little more detail.

Recent reports have suggested the Royals want to "hit a homerun" in any deal with DeJesus but the FOXSports.com report suggests the Red Sox are "unlikely to pay a steep price for a hitter who is more of a complementary player than a difference-maker."

The Royals are also expected to wait until closer to the trade deadline before deciding on DeJesus. The two sides agreed to stay in contact.
