Maurice Couch is a defensive tackle from Garden City Community College. He's beginning to get some significant offers from big-time schools.

Including Kansas, according to VolNation.com.

“Marshal, Oklahoma State, Marshall, Kansas, Tennesse, South Carolina, Ole Miss are some of the 13 schools that have offered. USC just offered me as well. I talked to Lane Kiffin and his father Montey. They enjoyed my film and offered me. That puts USC in the mix as one of my top schools. The probation is not a factor. I feel that going there gives me a good shot at going to the league. I was surprised at the offer, I wasn’t expecting it.

So where does KU stand out of that group?

My top five is Kansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USC. Kansas is my number one school, I think that is the best place for me in the nation right now.”

It's always nice to see KU recruiting with -- and beating -- the big-time schools.
