Derrick Washington's Suspension Leaves Mizzou Thin At Running Back

Stay connected for news and updates

If Mizzou RB Derrick Washington's suspension is going to cause him miss the season opener against Illinois, then the Tigers may officially have a running back problem.

Behind him is sophomore Kendial Lawrence. He's just 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds.

The third tailback is De'Vion Moore who is also 5-foot-9 and listed at 195 pounds. However, he's been out of practice for a week with an ankle injury and we're not sure where he stands.

After that is a handful of freshmen.

Washington's suspension probably isn't coming at a good time. At least if something like this had happened in the middle of the season, other backs on the roster would have a little more experience.

If Washington is out for the season opener, then say hello to Kendial Lawrence.
