Mizzou Assistant Football Coach Arrested, Not Charged Yet

Stay connected for news and updates

Apparently an assistant coach on the Mizzou football team was arrested for DWI, the Kansas City Star reports.

The word goes that some of the coaches and their wives were coming back from the Lake of the Ozarks. Bruce Walker, an assistant coach, was in the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex parking lot.

Here's the police officer's version:

“When the officers came up,” Weimer told The Star, “(Walker) was behind the wheel of a running car.”

And the coach's side:

According to a Columbia attorney consulted by Walker, the MU assistant coach and two other staffers were loading coolers in the back of Walker’s pickup truck, but a taxi that Walker had previously called to take him home was on the scene. Weimer said he could not discuss the results of a breathalyzer test.

As of Tuesday, he hadn't been charged. If a taxi was there, and his intent was not to drive, then there's no reason to charge him (and you probably wouldn't win anyway).
