Former Kansas Jayhawks guard Sherron Collins finished the Charlotte Bobcats' summer league with an impressive 32-point performance that included 7/11 shooting on three-pointers.
That performance helped earn him a deal with the Bobcats, according to the Associated Press.
The two-year deal is not guaranteed, but has two triggers before January that would allow him to make the full amount of the league-minimum contract. Collins is in Charlotte to sign the deal on Friday.
The former Kansas product will join D.J. Augustin and newly signed Shaun Livingston as point guards on Charlotte's roster. The Bobcats lost last year's starter, Raymond Felton, to New York in free agency.
Good for him. I think once he gets going the Bobcats will be very pleased with him.
