NFL Roster Cuts, Chiefs Sign Nose Tackle Anthony Toribio, Release WR Quinten Lawrence

The Kansas City Chiefs got down to 53 players on Saturday afternoon via the release of 13 players and the placement of two on injured reserve.

The Chiefs announced on Sunday they were awarded Toribio via the waiver claim.

To make room for him, they released WR Quinten Lawrence, the third 2009 draft pick to be released this weekend for the Chiefs.

NFL Roster Cuts: Kansas City Chiefs Release Seven Players

The Chiefs on Friday evening released seven players.

By Saturday at 5:00 p.m., they will need to go from 75 players to 53 players.

Here are the players released:

There are only two slight surprises on that list: Ndukwe and Richardson.

Ndukwe was the second team guard and most figured he had a decent chance to make the roster. Richardson was on the team last year as a special teamer.
