NFL Roster Cuts, Chiefs Sign Nose Tackle Anthony Toribio, Release WR Quinten Lawrence

The Kansas City Chiefs got down to 53 players on Saturday afternoon via the release of 13 players and the placement of two on injured reserve.

The Green Bay Packers did the same thing and among their releases was nose tackle Anthony Toribio. The Packers placed the 6-foot-1, 305-pound lineman on waivers and the Chiefs claimed him.

The Chiefs announced on Sunday they were awarded Toribio via the waiver claim.

To make room for him, they released WR Quinten Lawrence, the third 2009 draft pick to be released this weekend for the Chiefs.
