The Kansas City Chiefs acquired quarterback Kyle Orton off of waivers to provide some depth and eventually take over for Tyler Palko. However, Orton was injured on his first play of the game, so the Chiefs quarterback spot is in the hands of Palko. The Chiefs did win 10-7 over the Chicago Bears with Palko under center.
The 5-7 Chiefs are in a must win situation if they want to have any chance of making the playoffs. They are two games out of the AFC West lead as well as the second Wild Card spot. A loss to the New York Jets will essentially eliminate any hope that the Chiefs have to make the playoffs.
Looking at the line on this game, the odds makers do not give the Chiefs much of a chance. The line has changed wildly as it first opened up with the Jets being a seven-pont favorite, but now the line can be found anywhere from 10 or 12.5 points in favor of the Jets.
