After struggling mightily during Tuesday night's loss at Minnesota, Royals reliever Robinson Tejeda has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of right-shoulder inflammation. It's not shocking move by any means, as Tejeda's velocity seemed to be well off the other night and even Ryan Lefebvre mentioned on the Royals television broadcast that he wouldn't be surprised to see Tejeda land on the DL.
In the corresponding move, the Royals have called up reliever Blake Wood from AAA Omaha. Wood has thrown five innings for Omaha thus far, not allowing a run and striking out eight. Wood was a rookie last season appearing in 51 games out the Kansas City bullpen, posting a 1-3 record with a 5.07 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.
