If the injury concerning Peyton Manning’s neck lingers long enough, then the Week Five match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs at the Indianapolis Colts becomes a lot less scary on the Chiefs schedule. It’s the major blip on the front half of the schedule before things get really daunting starting with a Monday Night Football match-up against the Patriots.
Given that the Colts’ success largely depends on Manning and amazing adaptability in the pocket, the Colts suddenly look a lot more vulnerable. Of course, no injury should ever be considered a good thing in general, but injuries are a part of the game and you can’t ignore the fact that they affect the outcome for better or for worse. For the Colts, the loss of Manning for at least one week makes the upcoming season that much harder to contend with.
