Alabama's loss is Kansas State's gain as the Wildcats are now No. 1.
The newest BCS standings have been released and the Kansas St. Wildcats are just two steps away from playing for the BCS National Championship. With near unanimous No. 1 Alabama falling to Texas A&M this weekend the Aggies helped former conference rival Kansas State move to No.1 in place of the Crimson Tide.
Kansas State is still at No. 2 in the Harris Poll and the Coaches Poll behind Oregon, but were No. 1 in two of the computer polls and No. 2 in four more. Oregon, who is at No. 2 in the BCS. standings, is No. 1 in the Harris Poll and Coaches Poll.
Notre Dame, the third eligible undefeated team, is well-liked by the computers. The Fighting Irish are No. 1 in five of the seven computers, but are held back by being no. 3 in the human polls.
Former No. 1 Alabama did not fall far with its first loss, dropping to No. 4.
