James Franklin injury update: Missouri QB will be game-time decision

Gary Pinkel told the media on Wednesday that James Franklin status is a "game-time decision."

Missouri Tigers quarterback James Franklin suffered a concussion in last week's lost the the Syracuse Orange, and his status for Saturday's game against the Texas A&M Aggies will not be determined until game-time.

Tigers coach Gary Pinkel addressed the media on the SEC Teleconference Wednesday, stating:

"He threw a little bit yesterday ... in talking to our trainers this morning, the report that we get at 8 ... was that it's probably going to be a game-day decision. It's all based on symptoms. It's all based on him hitting criteria, that we know he's 100 percent OK. Our medical staff will make that decision."

Franklin has suffered numerous injuries this season. The quarterback had surgery on his labrum five months before the season started, then re-injured his shoulder against the Georgia Bulldogs. He sprained his MCL in the Tigers' loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores, which forced him to miss the next two games. Then he suffered a concussion in the third quarter against Syracuse, which caused him to miss the final quarter.

Franklin is not the only Tiger to struggle with injury issues this season, as Missouri has lost three projected starters on the offensive line to season-ending injuries. The Tigers need to defeat the Aggies on Saturday to gain bowl eligibility.
