Tracy Porter injury update: Broncos CB cleared to play vs. Chiefs

Chris Humphreys-US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Broncos cleared Tracy Porter to return to the field against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Denver Broncos cleared cornerback Tracy Porter to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, although it remains to be seen whether the veteran will suit up.

Porter has not taken the field since suffering light-headedness and a racing heartbeat on Oct. 14. The corner started feelings these symptoms hours before the team boarded a plane for their game on Monday night against the San Diego Chargers. Porter suffered a seizure in the preseason, and these symptoms concerned trainers enough to disbar Porter from flying on the plane.

The veteran remains upbeat about the situation, telling the media:

"I finally made the plane. Now, we'll see if I make the field."

Porter will make the trip to Kansas City, but the Broncos have yet to decide whether he will play. Former Kansas Jayhawk Chris Harris and fellow defensive back Tony Carter have played well in Porter's absence, and the Broncos are unsure whether they want to break the team's chemistry. Porter understands the situation, stating:

"Chris and Tony, everybody has been playing great. Why would you stop their chemistry? I wouldn't stop that chemistry. We'll see what happens."

The Broncos and Chiefs kick-off Sunday at 12 p.m CT.
