Despite losing on Saturday 35-27 to SMU, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will face UCF in the Conference USA championship game next Saturday.
Tulsa came within a yard of having a chance at a 2-point conversion to send the game into overtime despite at one point being behind SMU by a score of 35-6. But the Mustangs held on, moving their record to 6-6 and qualifying for a bowl game.
Tulsa looks to lock up home-field advantage for the Conference USA championship game, taking on SMU this Saturday.
