Clint Bowyer stayed at No. 3 in the Sprint Cup standings over the weekend, but has only two races remaining to make up ground on the leaders.
With only two races remaining in the season, Kansas native Clint Bowyer continues to sit in third place overall in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings.
Still chasing Cup leader Jimmie Johnson, the man who brought home his second consecutive checkered flag on Sunday with a win at Texas Motor Speedway, the 33-year-old Bowyer is now 36 points behind the top spot in the standings. Bowyer is also currently 29 points away from second-place contender Brad Keselowski, who continues to nip at Johnson's heels as the season draws to a close.
Bowyer faces an uphill battle in his bid to unseat the red-hot Johnson over the final two races of 2012, but still can take solace in the fact that he's put forth an extremely promising campaign. Despite being the only man in the top eight of the standings with less than 10 top five finishes, Bowyer is second to only Johnson in top 10 finishes with a 22 on the year.
