After racking up the second-best kills-per-set average of 4.64 in school history and notching the fourth-highest total of 506 kills, Missouri's Lisa Henning earned a place on the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American team. Henning's 506 kill total fell 17 kills short of her own school record that she set last season. Henning was also voted to the All-SEC team.
"My coaches and teammates played a big part in that transformation, so I want to give them a huge thanks. I can't say enough about the people that I have the chance to play with every day," Henning said in a release.
Henning may have gotten a little less credit for her accomplishments then she deserved, though, as she had a higher kills-per-set ratio than 12 of the 14 players on the first team. Arguably the best player in program history, Henning holds Missouri records for most games with 50 attacks (20) and the largest total in that category in one season (11).
