2012 NBA Standings: Oklahoma City Thunder Sit Atop Western Conference

Stay connected for news and updates

With the 2012 NBA regular season winding down, the race for seeding in the playoffs is heating up. Headed into Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Oklahoma City Thunder currently sit atop the Western Conference standings, and look to be in line to earn the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Oklahoma City currently leads the San Antonio Spurs by a game in the Western Conference — though, the two teams are even in the loss column. San Antonio will take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, but, the Lakers will be without Kobe Bryant for the contest as they visit San Antonio. Needless to say, advantage Spurs.

The Thunder and Spurs will not play again this season. Oklahoma City went 1-2 against the Spurs this season.

If the season ended today, the Thunder would draw the Denver Nuggets in the opening round of the NBA playoffs — but there’s still a long time to go between now and then.
