University of Missouri cornerback Robert Steeples was rumored to have been looking at up to four different schools with the intent to transfer to one, and the Memphis Tigers were considered the frontrunners. Dave Matter of the Columbia Daily-Tribune can now confirm those rumors.
Former #Mizzou corner Robert Steeples confirmed last night that he's transferring to Memphis. "I'm still a Tiger, only fitting," he told me— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) May 17, 2012
Earlier Jason Kirk reported, "Former Missouri Tigers cornerback Robert Steeples reportedly has a list of four potential destinations, with the Memphis Tigers among them. As a junior, Steeples posted 20 tackles, an interception and 1.5 tackles for loss. With E.J. Gaines, Xavier Smith and Randy Ponder among the Tigers defensive backs looking to capture more playing time this fall, Steeples may have better chances elsewhere."
