Jason Dufner has been in the hunt for the Byron Nelson Championship win all weekend long, and he came into the final round as the man to beat. As a model of consistency over the last few days, Dufner finally pulled out a win over Dicky Pride who tied Dufner atop the leaderboard with an overall score of 10-under.
Phil Mickelson made a charge today with four consecutive birdies and four other golfers were just one off the pace at nine-under, including J.J. Henry who made a hole-in-one. However, Dufner prevailed from the pack with an impressive all-around performance.
In the end, Dufner hit a 25-foot putt for birdie to win the title.

The final round of the 2012 Byron Nelson Championship couldn't get much tighter with five different golfers tied for the lead at 9-under par.
Joe Durant has been the biggest mover of the day following up his 65 on Saturday by going 5-under through 15 holes on Sunday to grab a share of the lead. Marc Leishman and Jonas Blixt are both 4-under on Sunday and tied for the lead along with Saturday leader Jason Dufner and J.J. Henry.
Dufner entered Sunday with a one shot lead but has had an up and down round. Dufner began his round with bogeys on two of the first three holes but came back with four birdies over the next seven. A bogey at No. 11 dropped him to 9-under for the tournament.

The last day of action at the 2012 Byron Nelson Championship in Irving has Jason Dufner atop the leaderboard at the start, but he holds a slim lead, just one-stroke ahead of the next three best scores at 8-under par.
J.J. Henry, Dicky Pride and Jason Day are all in the hunt at 7-under, while Mark Leishman is right behind them at 6-under par.
Kansas native and former Jayhawk Gary Woodland has played well this weekend and finished the final day of golf at 4-under, while shooting 2-under par 278 score for the tournament. On Sunday, Woodland was mostly even-par on the front nine, except for when he bogeyed the par-5 on the sixth hole.
Then he picked it up on the back nine with birdies on 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16. Just to note, Woodland will celebrate his 28th birthday on Monday.

Phil Mickelson is among the most heralded golfers in the world, so it’s natural for crowds to follow him no matter how he’s playing. Thus far in the Byron Nelson Championship, he’s not too pleased at all with his round of 69 lately and his overall standing at one-under after two rounds. Going into today, he’ll hope to climb the leaderboard and make up ground on overall leader Jason Dufner.
“I hit it terrible today, there was no other way around it,” Mickelson said. “I’ve just got some mechanical issues where I was not striking the ball very solid. I was able to hit decent shots on the backside to make birdies and make a run, but that last hole stunk.”
Local golfer Gary Woodland is at two-under and remains five strokes off the lead. Chez Reavie did not make the cut. Six players are tied at six-under for second place which shows just how tight things are at Four Seasons Resort in Dallas.
