Big 12 Baseball Tournament: Kansas, Kansas State Facing Elimination

The second day of the Big 12 tournament has an early start when Kansas State takes on Oklahoma State in an elimination game at 9 a.m. central time. Kansas State lost their first game in an 11-1 drubbing against top seeded Baylor Wednesday afternoon. While Oklahoma State lost a heart breaking 1-0 game against Oklahoma.

No. 7 seeded Kansas fell in their opening round game as well by falling 10-4 to Texas A&M, so the Jayhawks also are facing elimination. Kansas is taking on No. 3 seeded Texas who was upset 5-0 by Missouri.

Missouri was the only lower seeded team to win in the first round as they were able to shutout No. 4 seeded Texas 5-0. By winning Missouri gets to take on No. 2 seeded Texas in the final game on Thursday night. This season Missouri went 1-2 against Texas A&M, but the two loses were by a combined three runs.

  • Oklahoma State (No. 5, 0-1) vs Kansas State (No. 8, 0-1) 9:00 a.m. (Big 12 Digital Network)
  • Texas (No. 3, 0-1) vs Kansas (No. 7, 0-1) 12:30 p.m. (Big 12 Digital Network)
  • Oklahoma (No. 4, 1-0) vs Baylor (No. 1, 1-0) 4:00 p.m.(Big 12 Digital Network)
  • Texas A&M (No. 2, 1-0) vs Missouri (No. 5, 1-0) 7:30 p.m. (Big 12 Digital Network)
