The Charlotte Bobcats will have a new head coach next season. They have narrowed their search down to three finalists for the position.

The Charlotte Bobcats had another disastrous year in the lockout-shortened 2011-12 NBA season. After finishing with the worst record in basketball, it was clear that changes needed to be made. Despite missing out on the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Bobcats figure to look very different by the time next season rolls around. For starters, they will have a new head coach.

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports that the Bobcats have narrowed their coaching search down to three finalists. Former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Quin Snyder are all still in the running after being on the initial list of 10 candidates.

Shaw and Snyder are expected to receive second interviews in the coming week, while Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was already present for Sloan's interview. It likely won't be long before we find out who will be Paul Silas' replacement in Charlotte.
