The drought for a horse racing Triple Crown continues as I'll Have Another is scratched from the race due to a tendon injury which was suffered during Friday's training session, and now has officially retired from horse racing.
The tendon injury is not life threatening but it is sever enough to end a career, because if I'll Have Another suffers the injury again the horse may not be able to recover. With the breeding value of I'll Have Another it was the right choice to have the horse retire.
SB Nation's horse racing expert Matt Gardner of And Down the Stretch They Come discusses I'll Have Another's injury, and also what to expect in Saturday's Belmont Stakes now that the favorite is out.
