Royals Vs. Mariners Final Score: Kansas City Falls To Seattle 7-6

The Kansas City Royals comeback fell a single run short as they fell to the Seattle Mariners 7-6. The Royals were trailing 5-2 heading into the top of the eighth inning and that is when the Royals came back to tie the game. Billy Butler put up the first run for the Royals in the eighth when he hit a RBI single, and then the tying runs came as Eric Hosmer hit a two-RBI single to tie the game at five.

The Mariners came back in the bottom of the eighth inning to put up two runs. The first came on a throwing error by pitcher Jose Mijares which allowed Munenori Kawasaki to score, and the other run came on a RBI single by Casper Wells to make it a 7-5 game heading into the ninth inning.

In the ninth the Royals scored once again on a sacrifice by Alcides Escobar to make it a 7-6 game. That sacrifice advanced Alex Gordon to second base with two outs, but Lorenzo Cain struck out swinging to end the game.
