2012 London Olympics: Michael Phelps Breaks Record With 19 Medals

Stay connected for news and updates

History has indeed been made at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Michael Phelps has now become the most decorated Olympian in U.S. history with the arrival of yet another gold medal for Team USA men's swim team in today's 4x200 freestyle relay.

Phelps has not been the same swimmer as he was back in 2008 in Beijing, China, but that was a historic performance rarely seen. The fact that he can continue to win four years later and compete at such a high level among the greatest athletes in the world is a testament to his incredible ability. The amazing part is that there's even more to come.
