Russell Westbrook Injury: Thunder Star Suffers Ankle Sprain, Questionable For Gold Medal Game

The latest news out of London have to be a relief to concerned Oklahoma City Thunder fans, given the circumstances. Russell Westbrook left Team USA's win over Argentina after landing awkwardly on his ankle with just under four minutes remaining in the game and didn't return. Now reports are indicating that it's a sprain:

Even without Westbrook, who played for seven minutes in the win over Argentina, Team USA figures to be in good shape headed to the gold medal game against Spain. As NBA contributor Mike Prada points out at the SB Nation mothership, Team USA without Westbrook will rely more on Thunder teammate James Harden for a defensive presence against Spain.
