Missouri Football 2012: Safety Braylon Webb Out 7-10 Days

With less than two weeks until the start of the college football season, the Missouri depth chart is coming into focus for their inaugural campaign in the SEC.

The starting lineup on the defensive side took a hit this weekend, however, as safety Braylon Webb injured his left knee. Webb had arthroscopic surgery for a lateral meniscus tear and is expected to miss seven to 10 days, making him available just before the season opener.

Webb played in 11 games last season and recorded 38 total tackles, including 12 in an overtime win against fellow SEC rookie member Texas A&M. He had settled into the starting free safety spot during Fall camp. According to the Columbia Daily Tribune's Dave Matter, junior Matt White replaced him on the first-string defense during Friday's practice.

The Tigers' timetable for his return should have him active and back at practice before the opener, but it's unclear whether he'll be 100 percent and ready to reclaim the starting safety spot. Mizzou opens with Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 1.
