Team USA Basketball: LeBron James Desires To Suit Up For 2016 In Rio

Team USA basketball just recently finished another gold medal run in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, but the conversation turned to Rio as soon as the London edition was finished. Specifically it was the question of who would be on the 2016 Rio Olympics team and who would eventually sit out. LeBron James was on the fence, but apparently he only needed a few days away to take it all in and want another run.

The AP report reads, "Fresh off winning a gold medal in London with the U.S. men's team, the NBA's reigning MVP said Sunday that if he's healthy - and if the rules allow - he would like to play again at the Rio Games in 2016. James said he's "done the math, and I'll be 31," but he'd love the opportunity to represent his country again. James is one of just three players to be on three U.S. Olympic teams."

Kevin Durant and LeBron were the two leading scorers for the team and even at an advanced age, the two would likely be the top scoring pair once again. Some new names will definitely enter the picture but Durant will only be 27 at the time. Perhaps James will take on a lesser role like Kobe Bryant did this season.
