K-State's Tysyn Hartman Hopes To Impress Chiefs Coaches In Training Camp

The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot of questions in the secondary to answer this preseason as they get set for the NFL's regular season schedule, and a major part of that has to do with the depth on the team at cornerback and safety. Kansas State's Tysyn Hartman is hoping to prove to the team that's part of the solution and earn a spot on the final roster.

He'll get a chance to show his skills starting this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals in the first preseason game. A lot of players are vying for those back-up spots, but preseason reps under the lights allow the underdog to shine.

"It's going to feel great," said Hartman from Chiefs training camp. "It's been my dream ever since I was a little boy. To come out and put a Chiefs jersey on and represent my family and my team is going to be a great feeling."

So far, Hartman said the offseason at the pro level has been a challenge, but it's something he's adjusting to.

"It's been a learning experience just trying to catch up to the older guys and play my best. I put my best out there. Coming out in this heat day in and day out, it is definitely a learning experience ... I've shown that I can learn the system and try to adapt to do things. But there are still some areas where I can improve."

Hartman had 69 tackles and 3 interceptions for the Wildcats last season.

For the latest on the Chiefs, head over to Arrowhead Pride.
