Missouri Women's Soccer Continues To Roll With South Carolina Victory

Stay connected for news and updates

The Missouri Tigers women's soccer team scored in the 87th minute to break a tie and defeat the South Carolina Gamecocks 1-0 on Sunday in Columbia, S.C.

Abi Raymer found Dominique Richardson for a left-footed, low shot that went into the right side of the net and past the Gamecock goalie. The shot was Richardson's third score on the season. It kept the No. 17 Tigers unbeaten in the early SEC season at 2-0 and improved their overall record to 7-1.

Mizzou goalie McKenzie Sauerwein only needed two saves on the afternoon as the Tigers' defense kept the South Carolina offense in check. Both shots on goal by the Gamecocks occurred in the first half.

The Tigers' only loss this season came at the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes, who defeated Missouri 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 6. Next up for the Tigers are the Ole Miss Rebels, who visit Mizzou this Friday.
