College Basketball coach Roy Williams, who has won two national championships with the UNC Tarheels and coached for the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team between 1988-2003, had surgery to remove a tumor that was on his right kidney on Wednesday morning.

According to WRAL in North Carolina, Williams is scheduled to have a second procedure done on his left kidney at some point in October. He is reportedly up and moving and is expected to be back with the team soon, or at the very least before the season begins. The Tarheels will play their first game on Oct. 26 before opening the NCAA basketball regular season on Nov. 9 against Gardner-Webb.

It wasn't revealed whether or not the tumor that was removed from Williams' kidney was cancerous or not.

The 62-year old coach has suffered from various ailments, including vertigo which has caused him problems during games, for the past several years.
