West Virginia wide-receiver Tavon Austin, Kenny Cain, a linebacker from TCU and punter Ryan Doerr of Kansas State were named Big 12 Players of the Week for their performances in wins by their schools this past weekend.

Cain caught 13 passes for 179 total yards and three touchdowns in West Virginia’s 31-21 victory at home over Maryland. Cain was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for Week 4.

Defensive player honors went to TCU’s Cain, who had two interceptions and a fumble recovery that led to 10 of the Horned Frogs’ points in a 27-7 win over visiting Virginia out of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Doer was Special Teams Player of the Week after placing all five of his punts inside the 20-yard line in Kansas State’s upset win over previously 5th-ranked Oklahoma.
