Minnesota runs its winning streak to three games while the Thunder collect their 10th straight victory with a win over the Kings. The Timberwolves are still 6.5 games back of the Thunder in the Northwest division.

A full slate of Friday night games proved a thrilling start to the NBA weekend, with teams from around the country getting put to the test. The Oklahoma City Thunder outlasted the Sacramento Kings, while other teams from around the Northwest division were in action.

Oklahoma City Thunder 113 vs. Sacramento Kings 103

The Thunder stormed to a 19-point lead at half time only to see Isaiah Thomas score 23 points in the fourth quarter and bring the Kings within five points of pulling what would have been a shocking upset given Oklahoma City's dominant night to that point. But key buckets from Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant helped the Thunder to their 10th straight win.

Minnesota Timberwolves 113 vs. New Orleans Hornets 102

Nikola Pekovic scored 31 and Andrei Kirilenko added 21 as the Timberwolves bested the Hornets for their third straight victory. The Hornets kept it close most of the night behind Austin Rivers' career-high 27 points, but the Timberwolves outscored the Hornets by 10 in the third quarter on Minnesota's way to victory.

Phoenix Suns 99 vs. Utah Jazz 84

Jared Dudley's 22 points and five assists helped the Suns battle past the Jazz to drop Utah to just 4-10 on the road in 2012. Al Jefferson's team-high 14 points were not enough for Utah on Friday night.

Denver Nuggets 99 vs. Memphis Grizzles 94

Andre Iguodala's 20 points and Andre Miller's 18 off the bench were enough to hold the Grizzles late as Denver ran its home record to 6-1 and got back to .500 with the win.

The Thunder survive a furious Kings comeback attempt fueled by Sacramento's Isaiah Thomas to capture a 10th straight victory, 113-103.

Behind a strong second-quarter defensive effort and Kevin Durant's 31 points and five rebounds, the Oklahoma City Thunder were able to hold off the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, 113-103, for their 10th straight win.

The Thunder (19-4) now get the entire weekend off after storming out to a 19-point halftime lead that was built mostly during the second quarter, when the Kings scored just 16 points to the Thunder's 32. After the teams went back and forth in a tightly contested first quarter, Durant, who scored 10 in the quarter, and guard Kevin Martin, who scored eight in the frame, helped the Thunder pull away.

The 19-point halftime spread was enough to hold off a charge from the Kings for most of the night. But Sacramento, led by Isaiah Thomas, who scored 23 points in the fourth quarter alone, pushed late in the fourth quarter to shrink Oklahoma City's lead to as little as five points.

Sacramento's Tyreke Evans' 21 points and DeMarcus Cousins' 10 points and seven rebounds also helped the effort down the stretch. But it was too little, too late, as Russell Westbrook's double-double of 13 points and 13 assists and Serge Ibaka's two late buckets on his way to 18 points helped the Thunder survive the comeback attempt.

The Chiefs trail the Buccaneers at half, 7-3, after Bucs QB Josh Freeman connects for a 62-yard touchdown pass.

A Ryan Succop field goal has given the Kansas City Chiefs their first points of the day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Kansas City continues to trail quarterback Josh Freeman and the Bucs at half, 7-3.

After Freeman connected with receiver Mike Williams on a 62-yard touchdown strike to give the Buccaneers a 7-0 lead, the Chiefs have struggled to put extended drives together. A 15-play drive engineered in the second quarter, however, resulted in the field goal and got the Chiefs on the scoreboard on the road before halftime.

For the half, Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn has completed 11-of-17 passes for 83 yards, including three completions to receiver Dexter McCluster, who has 21 yards receiving.

For the Buccaneers, Freeman's touchdown strike has been enough to ward off other mistakes, including incompletions on more than half of his attempts and an interception thrown already. Freeman has also racked up 10 yards rushing through the first two quarters.

Josh Freeman's 62-yard touchdown strike has the Chiefs trailing early on the road.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman's touchdown pass to receiver Mike Williams with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter broke Tampa Bay and the Kansas City Chiefs' deadlock in their early Sunday showdown at Raymond James Stadium as the Chiefs trail the Bucs, 7-0.

Kansas City, led by quarterback Brady Quinn, was unable to get much offense going, and Quinn was intercepted to break a promising 11-play drive midway through the quarter. After the Chiefs were unable to muster much offense with their final full possession of the quarter, they punted to the Buccaneers. Faced with strong field position, Tampa Bay didn't waste much time as Freeman connected with Williams on the first play of the drive, giving the Bucs their 7-0 lead as they head into the second quarter.

Freeman, too, has been intercepted, but his turnover did not prove costly, as the Chiefs were unable to capitalize. Chiefs receiver Dexter McCluster has two catches for 12 yards.
