The Chiefs momentarily re-took the lead against the Broncos, but a deep 30-yard touchdown pass by Peyton Manning put Denver back in front.

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos lead the Kansas City Chiefs, 14-9, after three quarters at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs momentarily re-took the lead in third quarter, but Manning connected for his second touchdown pass of the day to push the Broncos back in front by five.

The touchdown came on a 30-yard strike to his primary deep threat, Demaryius Thomas. Manning dropped it over the top of the defense and hit Thomas in stride down the left sideline for the score. He is now 19 of 25 for 231 yards and two touchdowns.

The touchdown was a prompt response to another Ryan Succop field goal that put KC back in front. Succop split the uprights from 49 yards out to put the Chiefs ahead, 9-7. It was the Chiefs first possession of the half, and they went conservative with Brady Quinn under center. The drive covered 46 yards, and Kansas City handed it to Jamaal Charles on five of seven plays to get into field goal range.
