Pro Football Focus is a stats-based website. Recently, a few of their writers were asked to give their top three MVP candidates a quarter of the way through the season.
1. Peyton Manning (same as it ever was). 2. Clay Matthews (although he looked a shadow of himself on the right side last week). 3. Brandon Flowers (This is the same sort of stuff that Revis did last year but no one seems interested)
1. Manning - He’s throwing to practice squad players and still getting it done. 2. Peterson - He’s carrying the Vikings on his shoulders at the moment and not getting much help doing it. 3. Flowers. Teams currently have a 11.4 QB rating when throwing at him.
Flowers is in his third year so it's not like he's an older savvy veteran. He's really starting to hit it this year and having some of us wonder just how high his ceiling is. He's going to be fun to watch for a while.
