NFL Trade Rumors: Once Again, Panthers Say Steve Smith Going Nowhere At Deadline
One of the NFL trade rumors I've thought makes a lot of sense is the Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers and WR Steve Smith. The Panthers are in clear rebuilding mode and Smith is a valuable commodity. The Chiefs appear to be in need of some receiver help so I figured this matched up well.
It's not happening. Just like last week, a Panthers team source has said they're not trading anyone.
"There is nothing going on with us at all," a team source said, "and there won't be anything going on with us."
This would include DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. If there are teams interested in a running back, the Chiefs have two good ones but I can't imagine any scenario in which they'd trade Thomas Jones or Jamaal Charles.
