An inspired defense, a poised veteran quarterback and some hard running tailbacks have effectively shut down the league's most potent offense as the Kansas City Chiefs have a 6-0 lead over the Green Bay Packers in Arrowhead Stadium.
Two Ryan Succop field goals (19, 32 yards respectively) have put the points on the board for the Chiefs. The Chiefs had touchdown opportunities in the first quarter, but key drops by Steve Breaston and LeRon McClain in the endzone thwarted the efforts of newly installed quarterback Kyle Orton.
Orton, who steps in for the struggling Tyler Palko, (who is inactive this Sunday) has completed 7 of his 12 passes for 88 yards thus far.
