The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to end the Denver Broncos' playoff push in Week 17.
The Denver Broncos are looking to turn a season rescued by Tim Tebow and a tenacious defense into a playoff campaign by winning the AFC West and heading to the 2011 NFL playoffs. With a win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, they could do just that. The Chiefs, led by former Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton, would love nothing more than to spoil that Denver dream.
The Broncos and Chiefs previously played this year in Week 10, when the Broncos used a 56-yard touchdown pass from Tebow to Eric Decker (one of just two Tebow completions on the day) to come back for a 17-10 win.
Should the Broncos win Sunday, they will claim the AFC West, and the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoffs; they will host either the Pittsburgh Steelers or Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card round of the 2011 NFL playoffs. But if the Broncos lose, they could still make the playoffs, through a complicated series of tie breakers that would get them a wild card berth.
The Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention after they lost in Week 16.
