Ravens vs. Chiefs 2012: KC fans search for bright spots in loss

The Kansas City Chiefs held the Baltimore Ravens to just 298 yards of offense, as well as forcing two turnovers, yet lost on Sunday, 9-6, to fall to 1-4 on the season.

The game was marred by a hapless pass offense led by quarterback Matt Cassel, who threw two interceptions and lost a fumble at the goal line, that left many Chiefs fans frustrated and upset by yet another poor performance. Jamaal Charles was the lone bright spot, rushing for 140 yards on 30 carries, but it would be far from enough in the close loss.

Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride sums up the loss succinctly:

The Kansas City Chiefs improved their play on defensive dramatically but still couldn't hold on to beat the Baltimore Ravens, losing a nailbiter, 9-6. Matt Cassel was hurt in the fourth quarter, replaced by Brady Quinn. Cassel threw only 15 passes all game and had only thrown seven at halftime.

Jamaal Charles was the star on offense as he racked up 140 rushing yards on 30 carries. Justin Houston is the defensive star in the loss with two sacks.

The Chiefs were in this game all the way to the very end when the Ravens converted a 3rd-and-1 at the two-minute warning, effectively ending the game.

The Chiefs travel to Tampa Bay for a Week 6 matchup against the Buccaneers on Oct. 14.
