Ben Roethlisberger injury: Steelers QB taken to locker room

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping for a win on the field. They're also hoping for one off the field. The word on Ben Roethlisberger is that he was taken off the field in the third quarter after suffering an injury when hit by a couple of Kansas City Chiefs defenders and now the team is taking him to the locker for further monitoring.

Roethlisberger is having a potential MVP season for the Steelers so far, and it's hard to imagine the Steelers offense being able to function nearly as well without him under center. While the running game has been a success in recent weeks, Rashard Mendenhall remains an issue to watch health-wise, so the loss of both would definitely hurt the team.

For now, Justin Houston and Tamba Hali have succeeded in affecting the game with their ability to get at the quarterback. In this instance, it's completely affected the game.

Thus far, Roethlisberger is 9 of 18 for 84 yards and a touchdown.
