Chiefs vs. Steelers: Romeo Crennel faces Todd Haley on Monday Night Football

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

The Chiefs have turned the ball over 29 times through eight games, but they'll face a Steelers team that ranks No. 29 in the NFL at forcing turnovers.

After Todd Haley was fired from his position as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs following a Week 14 loss to the Jets in 2011, the Chiefs finished the season with wins in two of their last three games under the direction of Romeo Crennel. That was apparently not enough to translate into momentum for the Chiefs, though, as they have started off their 2012 season under Crennel with a 1-7 record.

While the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers hasn't been a perfect one so far, it has certainly been a better one than that of the Chiefs. With Todd Haley serving as offensive coordinator, the Steelers have bounced back from a 2-3 start with three consecutive wins and are certainly favored to make it four-in-a-row in a Monday Night Football game against the Chiefs.

The Steelers have the No. 1 defense in the NFL in yards allowed, but if there's one area they have seemingly struggled, it's at forcing turnovers. They have forced just eight turnovers, the fourth fewest in the NFL; however, they'll be facing a team that has been historically bad at taking care of the football.

With 29 turnovers in eight games, the Chiefs have turned the ball over at least three times in every game this season, with the exception of a loss to the Buccaneers in which they turned the ball over twice. To earn a win, or even just lose by single-digits for the first time since Week 5, the Chiefs will have to take care not to turn over the ball to the Steelers.

Monday's game against the Steelers will be nationally televised on ESPN and is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT.
