Chiefs Trying To Bring Kyle Orton Back

Stay connected for news and updates

In an interview with the media, Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli said the team is interested in bringing Kyle Orton back for the 2012 season:

Orton, who Kansas City picked up off waivers last season from the Denver Broncos, started three games for the Chiefs, completing 60.8% of his passes for 779 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT's.

While he's had several shots at being the starter in the NFL without being able to stick, given the state of backup QB play in the league, as the Chiefs found out last season when they had to use Tyler Palko for four games, he's still a valuable commodity on the free agent market.

It's a luxury for NFL teams to have a QB they can count on if the starter is hurt, which is why Orton will be pursued by many teams, including Kansas City, this off-season.
