NFL Hall Of Fame Class Of 2012: Top Ten Candidates Include Willie Roaf, Cris Carter, Curtis Martin

Stay connected for news and updates

The NFL announcements are now being made and the top ten has been revealed. One former Chief is included with Willie Roaf in the top ten, but there’s bad news for Will Shields fans as the longtime Pro Bowler will have to wait until next season. Yet contrary to Tim Brown’s previous Tweet, it seems that the wide receivers are well represented in the top ten, so there’s a question of whether or not he was correct.

Still defensive players will likely get in with the list below showing several high profile linemen who warrant entry. The top ten finalists announced today include:
Cris Carter
Dermonti Dawson
Chris Doleman
Charles Haley
Cortez Kennedy
Curtis Martin
Bill Parcells
Andre Reed
Willie Roaf
Aeneas Williams

That means that the members of the original 15 that did not make it include Jerome Bettis, Kevin Greene, Will Shields and Eddie DeBartolo. Shields was a possibility in his first year for the Chiefs, but apparently he will have to wait until next season.
