2012 NFL Mock Draft: Chiefs Use Pick On Defensive Tackle

Stay connected for news and updates

To quote the Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation from his latest NFL Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs could use their first round pick on Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

This is what Van Bibber had to say about Poe:

"Those Haloti Ngata comparisons are pretty powerful. Romeo Crennel and his staff will believe in their ability to extract that potential, thus taking what might seem like a risk drafting Poe this high."

This pick sort of caught Joel Thorman over at Arrowhead Pride off guard, with him being locked in to everything revolving around the Chiefs. Thorman questions why Poe's stock rose so quickly, since he figures most draft boards are done in February through the analysis of game tape rather than drills like the NFL Combine. But NFLDraftScout.com ranks Poe at No. 2 at his position and the 12th best overall prospect.
