Latest Report Indicates Brandon Carr To Cowboys Not A Done Deal

Stay connected for news and updates

While a report circulated late Tuesday that Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Carr had agreed to a long-term contract with the Dallas Cowboys, with nothing officially breaking almost 24 hours later it seems the situation isn't exactly resolved one way or the other:

The Cowboys, who let go of CB Terence Newman on Tuesday, have been eager to find help to fortify their weak secondary before the draft, which would allow them to not focus on need and take the best available player with their first-round pick.

However, with the NFL hitting them with a $10 million salary cap penalty that will be spread out over the next two seasons for their actions during the "uncapped" 2011 season, it remains unclear as to how much Dallas could actually afford to give the Chiefs CB.
