Chiefs Sign Quarterback Brady Quinn To Be Backup To Matt Cassel

The Kansas City Chiefs made another move on Saturday by signing free agent Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn. The signing reunites Quinn and Romeo Crennel who drafted Quinn in 2007 when Crennel was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Quinn also played for Crennel for one season in 2008.

The Chiefs wanted to bring in a quarterback to challenge Matt Cassel, but this move does not accomplish that. What this moves does provide is some stability to the backup quarterback spot which is something that the Chiefs have had issues with ever since they signed Cassel.

Quinn has spent the last to seasons with the Broncos but he never played a down during his time there, and he has not seen regular season action since his last season with the Browns which was in 2009.
