While it might not guarantee anything specifically with the Kansas City Chiefs, the upcoming Chiefs Pro Day does provide local NFL prospects with the chance to showcase their talents heading into the 2012 NFL Draft. This year, seventeen prospects will get the chance to impress the KC front office including offensive tackle Donald Stephenson of Oklahoma.
As Josh Looney writes, “To be eligible for the workout, players must have attended a college or university within a 40-mile radius of Arrowhead Stadium. A player whose hometown is within a 40-mile radius of the stadium is also eligible to participate.”
He also notes that last year the Chiefs did not sign anyone who attended but five found their way onto NFL rosters. Cornerback Trey Hobson of Missouri, wideout Brandon Kinnie of Nebraska and All-Big Ten tight end Blake Dunsmore of Northwestern will also be attending this afternoon.
