NFL Mock Draft 2012: Chiefs Linked To Boston College LB Luke Kuechly

Stay connected for news and updates

In the latest mock draft from SI.com, Don Banks has the Kansas City Chiefs selecting Boston College LB Luke Kuechly with their first round pick:

11LB Luke Kuechly Boston College Jr. 6-3 237

If Poe somehow lingers past No. 9 Carolina, the Chiefs will gladly jump on him. But in our scenario, Poe is gone and Kansas City will snap up Kuechly, upgrading their linebacking corps and adding the kind of smart, instinctive and versatile defender Scott Pioli looks for.

Kuechly, a standout LB who has been compared to the Dallas Cowboys' Sean Lee, had a dominant junior season at Boston College, with 191 tackles, including 12.5 for loss as well as 3 interceptions.

After a strong Combine showing where he ran a 4.5 40, he is seen as the one of the safer top prospects in the draft, with both the measurables and the production of a first-round pick.
