The 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft is set to take place on Thursday, but for any fan base expecting a major influx of talent -- well, it's not that kind of draft. Instead, the Supplemental Draft has only had 41 players taken in its 35 year history and that sort of ratio should continue this year with only eight players eligible to be taken and only one or possibly two expected to actually use up a draft choice: Baylor's Josh Gordon and TCU's Ed Wesley.
Gordon is projected as a mid-round selection and Wesley as a potential late-round flier. If a team takes one of them in the Supplemental Draft, then they lose that draft pick in next year's NFL Draft.
Here's a list of players eligible:
Quaylon Ewing-Burton, CB, Boise State
Josh Gordon, WR, Utah/Baylor
Adam Harris, RB, Syracuse
Adrian Haughton, OT, Iowa State
Larry Lumpkin, LB, Carson-Newman
Montez Robinson, DE, Georgia
Houston Tuminello, WR, McMurray/Louisiana Tech
Ed Wesley, RB, TCU
