Chiefs Training Camp: Mike Lombardi Says Peyton Hillis Is Most Pressing Question Facing KC

As NFL training camps begin to open all around, Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network and NFL.com recently laid out his most pressing questions for all 32 teams. When it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, Lombardi definitely focuses on a potential issue for the team, but it's hardly the main thing to focus upon. In fact, it's a bit surprising that he chooses Peyton Hillis of all candidates when analyzing the Chiefs.

Lombardi writes, "The Chiefs must successfully pound the ball on the ground, but which Peyton Hillis will show up? Hillis could give Kansas City a legitimate power back (like he did for Cleveland in 2010), but he also could miss games (like he did in 2011). There is no other full-time runner on this team, as Jamaal Charles is a change-of-pace back. The Chiefs managed just five rushing touchdowns all season in 2011."

With players like Jamaal Charles, Eric Berry and Tony Moeaki coming back from injury, the main concern would likely be the health of the team. That doesn't even include the season-ending injury to Matt Cassel, the team's starting quarterback, as well. However, the Chiefs will need Hillis to provide a solid tandem partner with Charles to win the AFC West this season. It's just far from the biggest question for Scott Pioli and company.
